Lala Says She Felt "Abandoned" by Katie During Season 11 of 'Vanderpump Rules'

It's hard to remember a time when Vanderpump Rules stars Lala Kent and Katie Maloney were anything close to besties. And going into Season 11 of the Bravo series, they were on solid ground. But it didn't take long for things to get dramatic between them, from arguing during a night out to throwing verbal blows during girls' night. And now, during part one of the reunion, Lala accuses Katie of talking about Ariana Madix behind her back.

But what did Katie say about Ariana? It seems like there were some things exchanged between the two women prior to filming Season 11. And, even though we didn't see this exchange during the season with cameras around, Katie doesn't exactly deny it.

According to Lala, prior to filming a girls' night scene during Season 11, she and Katie had spoken about Ariana's job opportunities and Katie vented about not being in the loop about Ariana's starring role on Broadway. A role that took Ariana out of Los Angeles and, in a way, contributed to putting their sandwich shop on hold. Katie admits that she did vent about this, but Lala makes it seem like a bit more than that.

In fact, from the way Lala explains it during the reunion, she and Katie had gotten so close over these talks that she was surprised when Katie "jumped down [her] throat" when she was relating her life to things happening in Ariana's life. Scheana Shay adds that Katie "went back on" things she said prior to filming Season 11 in regards to Ariana.

"You were supporting her and being like, 'Yeah, it would have been nice if people rallied around both of us.'" This is in reference to Katie's lack of support from the cast and her friends when she and Tom Schwartz spit up. Katie admits this is true, but Ariana does look a little surprised at Lala's claims about Katie talking about her behind her back.

When Andy Cohen asks Lala about her friendship with Katie during the first part of the reunion, Lala reveals that what Katie sent her in a DM about Scheana ended up being "extremely hurtful" toward her. Lala says that Katie brought up her custody battle with ex Randall Emmett. Katie denies this, but Lala reveals that Katie allegedly wrote, "Get rid of your lawyers because what you indeed is a f---ing therapist. You're a f---ing clown."

Katie denies saying anything to Lala about getting rid of her lawyers in regards to her custody battle. However, Lala explains, these DMs put them on "rocky ground" afterward. And now, it looks like the two on again/off again friends might still not be talking. In April 2024, Lala unfollowed Katie on Instagram. Lala addressed this during a May 2024 Amazon Live stream.

"I have 2.4 [million followers] and then it was like, following 227," Lala said at the time. "It bothers me when that number isn't kind of consistent. So I went in to see who I could unfollow and they were the two that I seemed to not be that interested in following any longer."
