With The Mole on Netflix, temptation lurks around every corner. Just when the players start to work together, they're thrown a curve ball that sends the group into chaos and causes many of the contestants to turn against each other. And at the end of Season 2, Episode 5, that's exactly what happens when the players are given the chance to bid on an exemption card.

An exemption card makes a player safe from elimination for one round, and it's as good as gold for many of the contestants. But when one player uses all of the prize fund to place a bid on winning the card for themselves, it creates a hailstorm. So, who bid on the exemption on The Mole? There are a few obvious choices.

Who bid on the exemption on 'The Mole'?

In Season 2, Episode 5, the players are given three chances to use the prize fund to secretly bid on three different items that could help them advance in the game. The first two items slide by with zero bids. However, when the third item, an exemption card, is presented to the group, some bids are sent in by the players to host Ari Shapiro. And, according to him, the highest bid sits at $59,500, which is the entire pot amount.

On The Mole, you can never really be sure who is telling the truth and who is lying through their teeth. By Episode 5, there are some solid contenders for who the mole is, and the mole likely placed that bid. Some of the players believe Michael or Muna could be the mole, and judging by their behavior throughout the season so far, those are two solid suspects. Because of that, either of them could have placed the bid.

Of course, both of those reactions could be a way to take the attention off of them, but these are two players who have been mostly honest thus far. If they did bid on the exemption card, there's little chance of them placing that high of a bid. Sean could have done it, though, because he once tried to confuse Michael with his actions during a challenge. And he could very well be the mole, to be honest.

Right now, there are just a handful of viable suspects. But, because Deanna is visibly upset, as is Quaylyn, these two appear to be playing straight games.

What happens when the pot reaches zero on 'The Mole'?

With the bid placed using the entire prize fund amount in Episode 5, once it goes through, the pot will once again be down to zero. But whenever that happens on The Mole, the players just have to continue to earn money through challenges to build it back up again.

At this point in the season, the players could have raked in more than $100,000. But, because of selfishness among some and the inability of others to work together, at the end of the fifth episode, the pot is once again in serious jeopardy.
