An Alabama woman named Alyssa (@Alyssa.Glavan) recently shared a shocking revelation on TikTok about her work experience that has quickly climbed to 147K views.

“OK, so I am making this video from the airport. I was a nanny for Bethancourt AC and Heating. I recently saw a post on Mandeville Mommas about a local AC company, the man in charge getting [charged with] 11 counts of video voyeurism. Whoever posted it has the story mixed up. So I was their nanny and I'm gonna attach receipts,” Alyssa alleges, setting the stage for the shocking admission.

Alyssa continues, “One day I was using the bathroom and I looked in front of me because I had dropped some Q-tips. I went to pick the Q-tips up and I see a smoke detector in the closet, in the bottom of the closet, in the bathroom.” She realized something was amiss and decided to investigate further.

“OK so if you look right there, that is the camera part. So I made a few phone calls, figured out it was a camera. I took it off the wall and saw that there was an SD card in the back," she says, adding that she scanned the QR code on the back and a site popped up confirming that it was a "secret spy cam."

Understanding the gravity of the situation, Alyssa immediately acted. “So I took it to the police. I had their baby with me. I called the mom, said there was like a medical emergency and I needed somebody to come get their baby, but I obviously wasn't going to stay at their house," she says.

The TikToker continues, "So the detectives went through the stuff. He got charged with 11 counts of video voyeurism, which is just from that one camera that he had in the bathroom that I was using. But I do believe that they're still investigating.”

The practice of parents spying on their nannies, often through hidden cameras, is a controversial topic. Although specific statistics on the frequency of this practice are scarce, anecdotal evidence suggests it is not uncommon. Websites like HowsMyNanny.com allow parents to report on nanny behaviors, clearly revealing a broader trend of parental surveillance.
