Shelby and Dylan uploaded a spat of their own. Luckily, the couple appears to take the disagreement in a light-hearted manner, as Shelby records Dylan going off on a rant about candle warmers.

Dylan contests with Shelby in the video that there's no need for anyone to have a candle warmer in their home because the fire one applies to a candle's wick does a good enough job of that already.

His exasperation throughout the video comically mounts, and several other users on the app seemed to understand exactly where he's coming from. There were other folks who argued that candle warmers are handy little inventions, especially if you're afraid of catching fire to something in your home.

"My husband's reaction to buying a candle warmer," a text overlay in the video reads as Shelby records her husband's reaction to seeing the new purchase that she made. He looks at it incredulously as she tells him what it is, "It's a candle warmer."

Mouth agape, smiling, he picks it up and begins assessing it: "A candle warmer?"

Shelby: Yes!

Dylan: Candles warm themselves. They're literally on fire. I am so confused.

He turns the contraption upside down while looking at it more closely.

Shelby: The lightbulb warms them.

Dylan shoots her a concerned expression.

Dylan: We spent money on this? To warm our candles that are literally ... warm? They're hot, actually. How do you warm what's hot? You can't.

Dylan continues his rant against candle warmers and the function that they serve.

Dylan: Shelby, it's a flame ... it's hot.

Shelby: Fire is dangerous so I bought a lamp warmer, I mean a candle warmer.

At this point in the conversation, Dylan isn't sure whether the warmer is meant to warm up lamps themselves or candles.

Dylan: Wait a minute, are we warming lamps or are we warming candles? Are you buying wickless candles?

Shelby: Fire is not safe so I bought an electrical lamp warmer. I meant candle warmer.

Dylan: Is this thing warming lamps or candles?! You're still not very clear. So you're telling me we spent money ... you spent money on a machine that also costs us money when a flame is free, Shelby.

Her husband continues to discuss the absurdity of purchasing a candle warmer.

Dylan: You can literally rub sticks together if you have enough time on your hands. This can't be a real thing. You bought this as a joke.

Shelby continuously laughs throughout the video.

Shelby: No. I thought it was cute.

Dylan: Our forefathers would be very mad at you right now.

Shelby: For using their invention ... the lamp?

Dylan: They got around on candles and horseback. They weren't riding around with these in their hands. I'm a little disappointed in ya.

Dylan widens his eyes as he carries the candle warmer back to the kitchen area.

If you've never heard of a candle warmer, Martha Stewart's website has extolled the benefits of using one over traditional lighting: "Candles can turn a room from cold to cozy with just one flick of a lighter or strike of a match. But using a candle warmer to heat up wax melts or a jarred candle instead of setting the wick aflame can boost the power of your favorite scent — and make the candle last longer."

The outlet goes on to explain that candles tend to last longer when used with a warmer/heat lamp and that an open flame isn't necessary in order to get the most out of your favorite smells: "Using a candle warmer or a candle lamp has multiple benefits, including a more powerful scent and better cost efficiency. But all the pros of using a candle warmer stem from the essential difference between the two products: A candle warmer doesn't need an open flame."

It seems like there were a lot of other TikTokers who were team candle warmer, too: "Burning candles makes me nervous sometimes with the flames! Especially with littles, I love my candle warmer!"

Someone else argued that they are the cleaner option: "No but when I cleaned prolly years of SOOT off my walls/ceiling from the old renters burning hella candles, I feel candle warmers are the way to go."

However, there were those who thought that Dylan definitely had a point: "Not only did you spend money on the candle warmer, you're spending money on the electricity to warm the candle"

"*Immediately taking a candle warmer out of my cart.*"

Someone else said that the warmers really extend the lives of candles, so if you're in the habit of purchasing lots of candles, then getting one of these may be the way to go: "Just wait until he sees how long they last, I was also a skeptical boy, now my woman hasn’t bought candles in two years because they last eternally."
