Lily James's Dating History Includes a Smooch With a Famous Married Man

Actor Lily James was previously at the center of some serious kissing drama. The tabloids remember Lily for her involvement with a married man while fans might remember her brief fling with Chris Evans.

Lately, Lily's dating life has been rumored to still be just as messy. She might be back together with her rockstar ex-boyfriend. Let's take a look at all the major names that she has dated since stepping into the limelight.

Lily's first public relationship was with Jack Fox, a British actor. He has appeared in projects like NBC's Dracula and ITV's Midsomer Murders. As for the pair's relationship, it was brief, lasting only a year from 2011 to 2012.

Matt Smith and Lily linked up after starring alongside each other in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Their 2014 fling grew into a much longer romance and they split after a long five years of dating.

In 2020, the pair reunited, but nothing seemed to come of the potential rekindled romance. It appeared like they couldn't get a clean break from each other when Just Jared reported that they were seen partying together in 2022.

Chris Evans and Lily might have only been rumors, considering that Lily refused to comment on their status when she did an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK in 2020. The Hollywood pair were seen on multiple outings together, including a cheeky cab ride share.

In a much more bold and blatant relationship, Lily was spotted kissing Dominic West in 2020. However, she still refused to really address what went down, opting to remain more private about her relationship. “Ach, I’m not really willing to talk about that,” Lily told The Guardian. “There is a lot to say, but not now, I’m afraid.”

What made the whole ordeal particularly problematic was that Dominic was married at the time. This, of course, started a lot of drama and people began to wonder about the status of his relationship, especially since photos showed him ditching his wedding band.

Dominic is still married and remained fairly quiet on the past scandal. However, he did tell The Sunday Times' Culture Magazine, "But we do joke about it sometimes... It was an absurd situation. It was deeply stressful for my wife and my kids, but there were lighter moments. That was the best that came out of it really."

Lily seems to have found herself in quite the situationship as she's stuck in an on-again-off-again loop with musician Michael Shuman. The pair first linked in 2021 when they were spotted by the Daily Mail kissing. It took a full year for them to truly confirm their status.

They seemed to be getting serious when Michael moved in with her. However, they split briefly in 2023 and gained lots of attention when they were pictured together only five months later.

A source told the Daily Mail: "Lily couldn't stop smiling as she left the theatre, and as she left she got into a car which Michael got into really soon after."

While Lily was seen wearing a gold band, the insider confirmed that they weren't actually engaged. "Lily was wearing a ring on her engagement finger which of course prompts speculation that she and Michael have either got engaged or married," they explained. "But it seems that it could be somewhat premature but nonetheless, they are besotted with one another and very, very happy."
