Who Are Jon Bon Jovi's Children? Details on the Singer's Family Life

When you think about the life of singer Jon Bon Jovi (real name John Bongiovi), you probably picture sold-out stadiums, millions of fans, and countless nights on tour. While those things have been a huge part of certainly been a big part of Bon Jovi's life, he has also been a huge family man.

Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea Hurley, have four kids together: a daughter named Stephanie, and three sons named Jesse, Jacob, and Romeo. Having a rock star dad certainly comes with both perks and challenges. Here's a closer look at Bon Jovi's life as a dad.

Stephanie is the oldest child and the only daughter of Jon and Dorothea. She was born on May 31, 1993. In 2012, Stephanie was arrested on drug charges after a suspected heroin overdose while she was attending Hamilton College. At the time, she was transported to the hospital after campus police found her unconscious with a small amount of heroin in her possession.

Jon opened up about the experience to The Mirror. “It was my worst moment as a father,” he shared, “The first thing she said [is] ‘I’m all right ... But then she said, ‘This is what happened.’ … [As a parent,] you wake up, you shake it off and put your shoes on and say, ‘OK, I am on the way home.'” Thankfully, Stephanie fully recovered from the experience. "I feel it was a terrible tragic lesson of life but I thank God every day because she is whole," Jon said. "It happened and it has gone. I know personally people whose sons and daughters, where it was a lot, lot worse. That could have been Stephanie.”

Fast forward to a few years later to 2017, when Jon and Stephanie performed “I’ve Got The Girl,” together at a concert. Jon had written the song with her in mind. Usually, he would play old home videos of her singing the song in the background on a monitor, but this time she joined her dad on stage instead.

These days, Stephanie also works in the entertainment industry, although she prefers to stay behind-the-scenes. She currently works as a camera operator for the show Impractical Jokers.

Jesse is Jon and Dorothea’s second-born and first son in the family. He was born Feb. 19, 1995 and is an entrepreneur in the wine industry. Jesse, alongside his dad, launched a rosé called Hampton Water. Jon seems to have really enjoyed the process of working together. "“When you’re in a band, you always say it’s like a family. But when you’re really working with your family, it’s totally different,” he told People.

Before working with Hampton Water, Jesse attended the University of Notre Dame where he played football. Jesse credits his father for pushing him to become the best version of himself.

“I think his fans probably know this, but my dad is an incredibly hard worker,” Jesse told Closer. “He would often wake me up in the summer to let me know he just finished a six-mile run. He works harder than anyone I’ve ever met, and I think it shows.”

Jesse proposed to his girlfriend — also named Jesse — in the summer of 2022, and the couple got married in May of 2024. Their wedding took place at the same Vegas chapel where Jon and Dorothea eloped in 1989!

Jacob "Jake" Bongiovi was born May 7, 2002. Jon’s second son, Jacob, attended Syracuse University in 2020. He began dating Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown in 2021. The two announced their engagement in April of 2023 and got married in May of 2024. Jake is an actor and producer who is slated to star opposite Kiernan Shipka in the upcoming romcom Sweethearts. He also follows in his dad's footsteps (kinda!) by playing the lead singer in a rock band in the movie Rockbottom.

Jon and Dorothea's youngest kid, Romeo, was born March 29, 2004. He's the most private of all of his siblings and doesn't appear to have a social media presence. However, he has made a few public appearances with his parents over the years.
