Many people were first introduced to Kim Kardashian as a reality TV star, but she's now hoping to add "lawyer" to her resume. In a surprising move in 2019, the SKIMS co-founder announced her intention to become an attorney in the state of California.

While she's been using her platform to shed light on prison reform for years, some were surprised by Kim's decision, given her lack of a college degree and her choice not to enroll in a formal law school.

Instead, Kim has embarked on a multi-year apprenticeship with top human rights attorney Jessica Jackson. The mom of four sporadically keeps her millions of fans and social media followers updated on her progress. As a result, several of her superfans are now curious to know: Did Kim Kardashian pass the bar yet?

So... did Kim Kardashian pass the bar?

While we all eagerly await Kim Kardashian's #LawyerEra, there's still some studying left for her to do. However, the exam date is closer than expected.

In Season 5 of the Hulu reality series The Kardashians, Kim meets with her mom-ager, Kris Jenner, and Ryan Murphy to explore the possibility of her starring in a procedural lawyer drama. The offered role casts her as a divorce lawyer at an all-female firm in Los Angeles.

Despite the busy schedule it would entail, the businesswoman-turned-actress is more than ready to embrace the challenge. Kim even reassures her mom that she'll be "golden" once she completes law school and takes the bar exam in 2025.

In Season 20 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim shared that she had to take the baby bar in order to continue on with her studies. Because she isn't in a formal law school, it's mandatory that Kim pass a one-day version of the exam to show that she's adequately preparing. In addition to being obligatory, the test is a good barometer to see how she's doing in her bar prep.

Unfortunately, Kim did not pass the baby bar after her first attempt. In a clip from the show, Kim revealed to sisters Khloé and Kourtney that she failed the important test. In order to pass, Kim needed a score of 560. She scored 474. However, as her mentor Jessica pointed out, "That is extremely close on a test that most people are not taking in the middle of a pandemic." Fair enough!

"I am a failure," Kim says in the clip. "To not pass gets your spirits down. It makes you want to give up." Khloé and Kourtney try to bolster her spirits, though. "I feel like dad would be really proud of you regardless," Kourtney says of the late, famed attorney Robert Kardashian Sr. "Just the fact that you're pursuing this."

Fast forward to December 2021, when Kim shared the joyous news that after all her hard work, she finally conquered the baby bar.

"OMFGGGG I PASSED THE BABY BAR EXAM!!!! Looking in the mirror, I am really proud of the woman looking back today in the reflection," the star wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). "For anyone who doesn't know my law school journey, know this wasn't easy or handed to me."

In a lengthy thread under that post, Kim continued by saying, "I failed this exam 3 times in 2 years, but I got back up each time and studied harder and tried again until I did it!!! (I did have COVID on the 3rd try w a 104 fever but I'm not making excuses)."

The reality star also noted that the baby bar has a "harder pass rate" than the actual bar exam, and that she feels more confident than ever to take the real thing.

How else is Kim Kardashian studying to become a lawyer?

Back in 2019, Kim announced that she was studying to become a lawyer, like her father Robert Kardashian Sr. She has embarked on a four-year apprenticeship with a law firm in San Francisco. Kim also studies law for 18 hours a week with Jessica and former public defender/co-founder of CUT50, Erin Haney.

"I go to the office [in the afternoon], and then I do my extra reading and stuff at home at about 9 p.m., from 9 to 11. Every night," Kim said on Good Morning America.

Kim claims that studying law has made her a better business owner.

"I read over every contract now. It's what I'm studying, and it makes a lot of sense, now, to me. Had I gone to school years ago when I should have, it wouldn't have meant as much as it does to me, and I wouldn't have been as into it as I am."

Her prep has been holistic, which has allowed her to gain a better understanding of a lot of things: "Because now, everything that I go through, personal injury law, everything — you have to study everything," Kim continued. "You can't just say, 'Oh, I want my degree in that.' You have to do everything, and so it all makes sense to me now. I love it."

When she first revealed the news to Vogue in their May 2019 issue, she explained, "I had to think long and hard about this. The White House called me to advise to help change the system of clemency, and I'm sitting in the Roosevelt Room with, like, a judge who had sentenced criminals and a lot of really powerful people and I just sat there, like, 'Oh, s--t. I need to know more.'"

"I would say what I had to say, about the human side and why this is so unfair," she added. "But I had attorneys with me who could back that up with all the facts of the case."

Though many have commended her for using her large platform to help others, Kim will likely be taken even more seriously once she's passed the bar and completed her studies.

Not bad for a girl with no talent, as Kim once said.
