David Nearly Cut His Weight In Half After 'My 600-lb Life' — See How He Looks Today
Two years after his initial visit with Dr. Now, David had lost 275 pounds, and has continued to lose more!

No one's story on My 600-lb Life is simple. David Nelson — who was featured in Season 10, Episode 15, which aired on Feb. 9, 2022 — shared his story of growing up in multiple foster homes and leaning on food throughout his childhood. His eating habits never changed and, as he grew into adulthood, David continued to overeat during most meals.
David started gaining weight more rapidly when he became bedridden for two months due to a cellulitis infection.
He moved in with his foster mother, Robin, who had raised him from the time he was 17, and she started to take care of him.
While he lived with her, David's weight remained at an unhealthy level, and he decided it was time for a big change. During his initial meeting with Dr. Now, David weighed 763 pounds, though he has come a long way, and lost a lot of weight! Here's an update on how David is doing now.

Fans are eager to know what happened to David from My 600-lb Life and we can't blame them. David started off his My 600-lb Life weight-loss journey on a positive note. He went through some major highs and lows, but ended the episode with hope for the future.
It's only natural that fans would want an update!
These days, David continues to work out and lose weight. He appears to be living in or near Houston, Texas, and is no longer residing in his van. On Feb. 4, 2024, David shared some wonderful news with his fans via Instagram, announcing that he was nearly out of the 300-pound range. As part of his daily routine, David does 100 pushups and rides his indoor bike. In the post, he highlighted his progress, showing that he had completed over six miles in 25 minutes. Go David!
In addition to embracing a healthier lifestyle, David seems to have traded out his van for a Hemi Chrysler 300 and reentered the dating scene. Recent posts suggest he's seeing a woman named Anna Sol, who goes by the handle @deusianesol on Instagram.
Prior to settling down, David had been traveling all over the country — from California to Idaho and plenty of places in between.
David from 'My 600-lb Life' Season 10 hasn't had it easy and struggled on the show.
David started off the episode at 763 pounds. He visited with Dr. Now, who got him started on a rigorous weight-loss program. David lost 75 pounds over the following two months and got scheduled for bariatric surgery. However, between that appointment and his next, David gained back all of the weight. It was a low moment for him, but he didn't make excuses for himself, and Dr. Now seemed to admire him for that.
David wasn't discouraged. Instead, he decided to continue to put in the effort. By the end of the episode, he lost weight again and even started working out to try and continue to shed pounds in preparation for his weight-loss surgery.
He said in the episode that he was going to change his life for the better and that he was "never going back" to the weight or lifestyle he had before. And he kept his word!
A year and seven months after having met with Dr. Now for the first time, David revealed on Season 9, Episode 4 of My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now?, which aired on May 22, 2024, that he was finally approved for surgery. By the two-year mark (three months post surgery), David had dropped to 488 pounds, reflecting a total loss of 275 pounds.
Looking ahead, David aims to undergo skin removal surgery (if he hasn't already) and has set his goal weight at 250 pounds. We wish him all the best in achieving these milestones!
