As a series that has borne several spinoffs, Below Deck is as popular as ever with Bravo's audiences. Since it premiered a little over a decade ago, viewers have loved the series firsthand glimpse into the superyacht life. Within the instances of drama, lies, hookups, and professional confrontation, the various crews that have come through the franchise have become Bravolebrities. Every aspect of production is planned right down to the letter, and there's nothing production can't see.

Being a show that features typically attractive crew members in a confined space, it makes absolute sense that romantic scenarios would arise on the choppy waters. Viewers have seen flirtatious interactions every season, whether it's the stews, deckhands, and other crew on the superyachts. Each person also has contractual rules that they must abide by. With these strict rules in place, many wonder if these hookups are technically OK. Are the Below Deck stews allowed to hook up?

Are the 'Below Deck' stewards allowed to hook up on the superyacht?

There are a lot of strict rules the Below Deck cast must follow, but hookups with other cast members are not one of them. The no-hookup rule applies entirely to charter guests, which makes sense. Crew hookups have provided some of the best moments in Below Deck's past. There have even been cases of hookups with guests that have led to crew members being fired. Other charter companies may have that kind of rule about crew hookups, but Bravo thrives on the conflict those hookups provide.

What other rules do the 'Below Deck' casts have to follow?

While the stews and other crew members are allowed to have dalliances amongst each other, they still have other strict rules to follow. These rules are not only Bravo's contractual obligations but also from the charter company that owns the superyacht. To appear in the series as a member of the cast, they sign a separate contract with both Bravo and the charter company.

Those hired must also make sure that everything needed for international travel is taken care of prior to the show.

Being on 'Below Deck' is only glamorous when the person is a guest.

The cast of Below Deck does not have it easy when it comes to filming. They work all day and, for the most part, have no escape from the cameras. Legitimately. Crew members are only allowed to be off-camera when they go to the bathroom alone. They don't even have privacy in their own room, and if crew members happen to go into the bathroom together, the cameras are allowed to follow them inside.

Being filmed 24/7 while also having to work long hours has to be very draining, but that's what they signed up for.
